Velo a Mano
Born in the highlands of the Altiplano, Velo Fino a Mano blends the softness of alpaca and the lustre of silk in a rare colouring technique: manual dyeing that creates a very subtle and delicate gradient. The fabric remains airy and sensual; light passes through it, revealing a silky transparency, a veil that nuances the space without weighing it down.
The intention : a muted and precise chromatic transition that complements the architecture and light. Each panel is made to order for a unique, controlled and deeply soft finish. The ‘A Mano’ process can be applied to our Essential, Velo and Velo Fino bases.
Composition : 70% baby alpaca (Andean Altiplano), 30% silk
Process : piece dyeing, ‘A Mano’ dipping entirely done by hand for a fine and controlled gradient
Width : 210 cm
Weight (approx.) : ≈ 125 g/m² (≈ 263 g/ml over 210 cm width)
Gradient parameters and configurations :
Background (base colour) : up to 380 cm
Gradient area : maximum length 70 cm AND no more than 1/3 of the height of the panel
Dyed band (at the bottom, by default) : from 0 to 150 cm
Placement options : the dye can be positioned in the centre on request, with gradients around it and the base at the ends
The result : a very delicate voile with a fluid drape and ultra-nuanced colour expression — tailor-made, precise, unique.
