Altiplano Throw

The Altiplano throw with fur trim is a wonderfully soft and lightweight throw. Its Suri alpaca fur edging and calm colour palette make this throw both elegant and unique. The fur used to make this blanket comes from alpaca herds living at altitudes between 4,500 and 5,400 metres. In this tropical climate at high altitude, temperatures vary between 25°C during the day and -30°C at night, all year round. Added to these harsh conditions are the rainy seasons from January to March.

The combination of these extreme temperatures and high humidity during these two periods is fatal for some of the alpacas. Together with our partner breeders, we decided to turn this loss, both sentimental and financial for them, into an opportunity by putting them in touch with the best furriers in the country to transform these furs. This process gave rise to our range of 100% natural fur products.
